Many EDC enthusiasts are familiar with the iconic **S.T. Dupont** lighter, celebrated for its unmistakable metallic *"ping"* when the lid is opened. Inspired by this signature acoustic experience, **GAMUT** brings a similar concept to a magnetic slider.

By utilizing the movement of freely floating internal magnets, every push generates a controlled impact inside the body. This impact excites a specially designed tuning-fork spring, transforming mechanical energy into a crisp metallic resonance with every slide.

To achieve the ideal balance between sound quality, available space, and manufacturability, GAMUT incorporates two different types of resonating springs:

* **Tuning Fork Spring** – Produces a higher-pitched, bright metallic tone with a shorter sustain.
* **Coil Spring Resonator** – Produces a lower-pitched tone with a slightly longer resonance.

Together, these two resonators create the distinctive layered sound signature that defines GAMUT.

Because the sound is generated by vibrating metal springs, material differences are relatively subtle. The heavier **stainless steel** and **zirconium** versions produce a slightly higher-pitched tone, while the lighter **titanium** version offers richer overtones.

Triple-Layer Internal Structure

Unlike traditional sliders that use a **metal housing + PTFE (Teflon) liner** construction, GAMUT introduces a **three-layer architecture** consisting of:

* Main Body
* Nylon Inner Plate

The magnets are completely enclosed inside the metal housing, resulting in a cleaner and crisper sound. The nylon inner plate serves solely to provide an exceptionally smooth sliding experience.

Thanks to nylon's natural self-lubricating and highly wear-resistant properties, the slider becomes smoother with continued use without suffering noticeable material loss.

Unlike PTFE adhesive liners that eventually require replacement, the nylon inner plate is designed for long-term durability. Even if replacement is ever desired, its simple construction makes it both affordable and easy to replace.

For enthusiasts who enjoy customization, GAMUT provides generous room for magnetic upgrades and supports magnets up to **6 × 4 mm (N52)**.

The entire structure uses a **glue-free, screw-fastened assembly**, making maintenance and modifications simple.

For users who prefer a cleaner sound, an **O-ring** is included. Installing the O-ring reduces magnet movement and suppresses the subtle internal rattling, allowing the tuning-fork resonance to become even more pronounced.
