Seiya

The development journey of this spinning top was just as challenging and full of obstacles. We overcame numerous difficulties to bring “Seiya” to life in its most perfected form.

The design of “Seiya” began in January of this year. Over the course of four months, we went through eight design revisions. During the first two months of development, we continuously refined and adjusted the concept, ultimately completing the initial prototype design.

Due to Seiya’s fully irregular curved surfaces, dramatic vertical beveling with significant height differences, and its fully hollow interlocking structure, five manufacturers declined to produce it, citing excessive machining difficulty or prohibitively high production costs. However, we refused to back down simply because of the complexity of the design. Instead, we maintained constant communication with multiple factories, repeatedly adjusted the details, and conducted extensive testing. After one and a half months of refinement and parameter optimization, we successfully completed this stage of development.

On April 26, we unveiled the first-generation Seiya prototype at the Zhongshan exhibition, where it attracted significant attention from enthusiasts and received valuable hands-on feedback. Staying true to our commitment to excellence, we carried out a second round of enhancements to the interlocking mechanism and added a bead groove. The Xinggong interlock was upgraded to a dual-layer embedded structure for the inner ring and center column, resolving the discomfort issue caused by the original lock design and significantly improving grip and handling. At the same time, this unexpectedly expanded the DIY customization possibilities—players can now combine outer rings and center columns of different materials and finishes to create their own favorite version of Seiya.

The nostalgia of childhood has fueled our dedication and belief in this product. Our “cosmos” has continued to burn brightly throughout these four months of relentless refinement. Although we faced countless challenges and setbacks, we remained committed to overcoming and optimizing every issue. That perseverance is what made today’s Seiya possible—a spinning top that combines striking aesthetics, high playability, excellent handling, and impressive attack speed.
